About Gina Swanson

Vice President, VICIS Foundation | NFL Parent Educator

Gina was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. In 1991, she and husband Todd relocated to Kingwood, Texas where they resided for 25 years.  Kingwood is where they raised their two boys, Travis and Conner, and where football began for their family. In December, 2015, Todd and Gina relocated up to Fayetteville, Arkansas after falling in love with the area upon Travis’s arrival to play football for the University of Arkansas in 2009. Upon his graduation, Travis was drafted by the Detroit Lions. Gina and Todd remained in Fayetteville as Travis moved on to his NFL career with the Lions for the next 4 years. Travis just recently signed with the New York Jets and will begin his first season with the Jets this year.

Gina holds an Associate of Arts Degree, a Business Degree, a Real Estate Broker’s License in both Texas and Arkansas, is a Certified Arbitrator, and an active participant in the CEO Global USA Program through the University of Arkansas. She also serves as the Vice President of the VICIS Foundation alongside Lisa Ertz, mother of Zack Ertz of the Philadelphia Eagles.  The VICIS Foundation provides grants and scholarships to youth and school programs to help with the purchase of safety equipment for their players.

Besides her family, one of her greatest accomplishments was the work that she and husband Todd were able to accomplish while living in Kingwood for the Kingwood Football League.   After enrolling their children at the age of 6 in the youth football program in 1995, they became actively involved as Board Members of the league. In an effort to ‘grow’ the program, one of their top priorities was to locate and secure playing facilities where they could serve as hosts to other programs in the area and create a fun, safe environment to challenge kids to learn teamwork, effort, discipline, and lifelong lessons.  Through their diligent efforts they were able to secure a lease on 10 acres, for 10 years, in their hometown where they spearheaded the entire construction from beginning to end.  The Swanson’s are honored to continue to watch the KFL fields grow and prosper and keep with the true fundamental values that their own children grew up with.

Gina has also had the opportunity to speak at Mom’s Clinics hosted by the Detroit Lions for the past two years, acting as a Panel Member with other mom’s and wives of NFL players.
